Maho Bay Sea Turtles
At Maho Bay, sea turtles can be spotted gracefully swimming through the crystal-clear waters. These majestic creatures are a sight to behold, gliding effortlessly through their natural habitat and eating sea grass on the ocean bottom. Observing them from a respectful distance allows visitors to appreciate the beauty and tranquility that these sea turtles bring to the marine environment at Maho Bay. It's a gentle reminder of the importance of marine conservation and the need to protect these gentle creatures for future generations to admire. We hooked a free mooring ball here for the few hours we spent enjoying snorkeling with the sea turtles and the tropical fish.
Cinnamon Bay
The beautiful beach at Cinnamon Bay is a serene sanctuary where the soft, powdery sands meet the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. The gentle waves create a mesmerizing rhythm that lulls visitors into a state of peaceful relaxation. Surrounded by lush greenery and swaying palm trees, this pristine stretch of coastline offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're soaking up the sun, taking a refreshing dip in the ocean, or simply strolling along the shore, the beach at Cinnamon Bay is a breathtaking slice of paradise where nature's beauty takes center stage. We hooked another free mooring ball for the night, just off the beach. There were several cats in a line off the beach rather unique and picturesque view from the drone
Coral Bay
Coral Bay, located on the south east edge of the island of Saint John, is a popular destination for cruisers seeking a taste of local flavor and a relaxing atmosphere. One of the main attractions for seafaring visitors is the Coral Bay Lime Out Taco restaurant, a floating restaurant right in the harbour. Here, diners can savor delicious homemade tacos while enjoying fish swimming around their feet as they dine on floating booths or sit at the bar with underwater stools on the restaurants edge. One of the ways to get there is by ferry, which drops you off in the water and you swim to the restaurant. You can also dinghy your members over to one of the floating tables and then tether your dinghy to a nearby mooring and swim a short distance to join your party.
Another well-known spot drawing cruisers is Skinny Legs, a laid-back eatery with a lively vibe, daily drink specials and mouth watering burgers. Its casual setting and welcoming staff make it a favorite hangout for those looking to unwind after a day of sailing. We had a great time listening to music and met a great couple from Connecticut(so close to home) as we all watched the final four together and shared our lives with each other.
For those craving homemade Caribbean cuisine, Ekaete Pink Corner restaurant is a must-visit. Known for its flavorful dishes and vibrant atmosphere, this eatery offers a true taste of local culture that many find irresistible.
These are just a few reasons why cruisers are drawn to Coral Bay – a place where good food, picturesque views, and warm hospitality converge to create unforgettable memories for those exploring the beautiful waters of St. John. Also worth mentioning there is a small grocery with reasonable prices if you need to lightly provision while here.
