The night we arrived on Block Island there was a devastating fire that ultimately claimed the Harbourside Inn. The Harborside Inn was originally known as The Pequot House when it was built in 1879. It would later be renamed The Royal Hotel, and a few more names before officially becoming the Harborside Inn in the 1990s.
